Bartow County Georgia was founded in 1832. It was created from a portion of Cherokee County and originally named Cass County after General Lewis Cass.
Named for General Francis S. Bartow (1816–61), Confederate political leader; first Confederate general killed in the American Civil War
Bartow County reported a population of 110,843 in 2020. It has an area of 460 square miles (1191 km2)
